What to expect at your first beginner skating class in Barcelona
Your first Uroloki class lasts one hour. Discover how we support beginners, what to bring and how to ask about equipment available to borrow.
Your first trial at Uroloki is a chance to meet the group, discover how we train and see how your child feels on skates. The session lasts one hour. Before coming, message us to confirm the right group and session time for you.
One hour to take the first steps
We introduce the space and the group, then offer exercises to develop balance, movement and confidence on wheels, adapted to each child’s age and ability.
We have very young coaches who support children through their first steps. They help during exercises and as children get used to the rink and the session routine. We want that first hour to be a chance to learn and enjoy training.
The trial also helps us advise families on the right group and how to continue if their child enjoys the activity.
Ages 6 to 10; age 5 with some skating ability
The beginners’ school is for children aged 6 to 10. Five-year-olds may join if they can already skate a little. Children aged 6 to 10 may start from scratch. No inline hockey experience is needed: we work on skating basics first, then gradually introduce the stick, puck and game.
What to bring to the first class
Ideally, bring the equipment your child already uses for outdoor skating:
- Inline skates, the pair your child normally wears.
- A helmet and skating pads, such as knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards.
- Comfortable clothes that allow easy movement.
- A towel and water for drinking, cooling down and drying off during the session.
Everyday outdoor skating equipment is ideal for this first experience. If you have questions about your equipment, ask us before buying anything.
Missing something? The club has some equipment to lend
Uroloki has some equipment available to borrow. If you are missing an item, tell us before coming so we can check availability and sizes. Loans depend on the equipment available at the time.
That way, you can prepare for the trial knowing what to bring from home and what the club can provide.
What to consider afterwards
Think about whether your child enjoyed the session, felt supported and wants to come back. The first class helps you get to know the atmosphere and decide at your own pace.
